The short version: the site earns its keep through advertising and affiliate links, it uses a couple of analytics tools to understand what collectors find useful, and the only personal information it ever receives is what you choose to send by email.

A note on the photos you send. By sending photos of a piece, you give permission to use those photos as reference imagery on this website to help other collectors identify similar pieces. Any personal information visible in a photo (names, contact details, or anything identifying) is redacted before anything is published. If you would prefer your photos be kept private, simply say so in your email and that request will be honored. Your email address is never sold, published, or shared, and is used only to reply to you.

Payments

The contact page offers an optional "Say Thanks" tip for identification help, processed through Stripe. Payments are handled entirely on Stripe's secure hosted pages. VanBriggle.net never sees or stores your card number or payment details. Stripe's handling of that information is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.

How your information is used

In short, information is used only to:

• Operate, secure, and improve the website;
• Measure traffic and understand which content is useful;
• Display advertising that keeps the site free to read;
• Respond to emails and identification requests you send;
• Publish redacted reference photos you have given permission to use.
